To me, nothing more is needed if I can lead a smooth life and draw in quiet. God bless! Now matter which times I belong to or how rough the environment is, I can find a kind of comfort through painting. Only those who know well about my life can understand how significant the comfort of painting is! Therefore, I believe that it’s the destiny of sensible people to be sincere to art. People of this kind are almost impossible to blather, tell lies or pretend to be fashionable. He can never turn around once he finds the deep connotation of art. Only himself can realize what a bless it is to keep the chastity of spirit.
I spend more than half of my life on drawing without any distractions, however, it’s rather a pity that every piece of work more or less have some fault. The shock it brings to me is even stronger than a total loss of all my paintings.
Though mainly engage in oil paint and water color, I have special enthusiasm in the freehand brushwork spirit of Chinese painting. I believe that this spirit has something in common with other kinds of art by some western art masters. The combination of the eastern and western arts is never with intention, but a result of natural practice. To me, this kind of practice may last for a life time.
